Review: 1.5 weeks in, and my acne is already almost gone **Updated** - **Update** Now that I've been taking this for a few months... I can tell you that it has REALLY helped my acne. It hasn't solved it completely, but it has helped a ton. Combined with using Manuka Honey as a face mask twice a day, I now only have 2-5 pimples at a time, which is a huge improvement. I actually started to wonder if the FCLO was helping, I thought "maybe something else I'm doing is working." And then I ran out, and had to wait 2 weeks for the next shipment to come in... my skin went INSANE. After a week back on FCLO, it was back to being better. Now I know for sure, my body needs this stuff! New bottles: the cinnamon taste on this batch is weaker, so I can taste more of the fish. It's not hard to take, though. I think there are so many differing opinions on the flavor simply because each batch is different. Original review below: I'm almost 30, and I have developed adult acne in the last 2 years. I've been taking this cinnamon gel for a week and a half- and I can already tell that my skin is getting clearer. The pimples I had are healing, and no new ones are coming up in their place. I had read that it takes 2 weeks to notice a difference in acne, and 4-6 weeks for completely clear skin with this product- so I am happy to already be able to know that it is working! I spend a lot of money on good, quality skin products, but ultimately I realized that the cure probably needs to come from the inside, not topical applications. Internet research led me to this supplement, over and over, so I'm glad I finally decided to give it a whirl! Combined with my Clarisonic and my Aveda products, I finally feel like I've found a system that works, inside and out. Also, I feel like it has helped my digestive system, weirdly enough. I haven't changed anything in my diet (other than starting to take the cod liver oil/butter blend), but I've been extremely "regular" every day that I've taken this. TMI, probably. I also feel like I've been less stressed, and happier, but it hasn't been long enough to definitively say "it's because of the supplement." It could be hormones... or just me being overly-hopeful about this stuff being the miracle-cure I've read about. Honestly, just clearing up my acne could be lifting my spirits. But I do feel what other reviewers have said- you don't forget to take it because you have a sense that your body WANTS it, needs it. It's a strange thing, and I always wonder if it's all in my head. I don't think it is. Now into the details that everyone worries about- it doesn't taste bad! I refrigerate it so that it becomes solid, and use the "scoop it out with a knife, scrape it off with the back of your teeth, and swallow it like a pill" technique that you will see in other reviews- so it barely ever touches my tongue. All I am left with is a hint of cinnamon-ey goodness, and I always eat something small right after and then brush my teeth. The first few days it would mildly upset my stomach, but then I realized that eating with it stopped that from happening (or drinking something hot, like tea). The bottle recommends taking 1/2 tsp a day, but I take that dose when I first wake up and also right before I go to sleep- I wanted to start off strong. Once my skin is clear, I will try and decrease to the recommended dose, and see if that will maintain it. This stuff is so expensive. I will say that I feel so confident about this supplement that I went to the green pastures website and ordered 3 more bottles. You can't always order it through them, because they run out of this flavor frequently. They charge $49 with $23 shipping, so it's not THAT different from the desertcart price, however if you order multiple bottles through the company the price becomes more reasonable because the shipping applies to the whole order. All in all, for 3 bottles through the company, I'm paying $59 per bottle (inc. s/h), instead of the $72 (inc. s/h) I paid for one bottle on desertcart. But I had to regularly check the green pastures site to see if they had any... 4 times I checked and they were out. If that happens again and I need some fast, I'll probably suck it up and pay the desertcart amount because I already believe in this stuff. I'll try and remember to update again when I hit 4-6 weeks, to let everyone know how my skin is doing!! I have high hopes, so we'll see.
Review: The best overall health supplement, tips on taking it - You really can't get a much better overall single health supplement than this. Cod liver oil harvested naturally with no heat/bleaching/deoderizing/filtering providing a natural vitamin A and D powerhouse, and butter oil taken specifically from cows during the spring when the grass is most nutritious for the most 'activator x' which I believe is now known as vitamin k2. It provides a whole range of natural vitamins and fats in a food form, which is much more effective than the synthetic supplements made in labs. I think in this age of 'nutrition marketing' we forget that synthetic supplements are basically ways for companies to mimick natural sources of nutrients in the cheapest way possible. Ok, so now for the taste part, since the best supplement in the world doesn't do much if you can't get it down. I started out with the pills but the gel is ridiculously more economical and I like to take much more than the dose on the label. My first try of the gel was a total failure, I had to spit it out. But I realized my two mistakes, taking it at room temperature and using a spoon. So here's my recommendation on how to take it with ease: First, refrigerate. Second, use a Butter Knife and your teeth instead of a spoon and your tongue/lips. With a spoon you have to use your tongue or lips to scrape it off the concave surface, that's what gets it stuck to your mouth and makes you really taste it in all its glory. Instead, take the refrigerated cod liver oil (nice and firm from the cold) and put a bunch on the Butter Knife tip as if it were whipped butter. Then stick it in your mouth and scrape it off in one stroke with JUST your front teeth. Since the knife is flat like your front teeth you'll get almost all of it off. It'll also be in a nice ball shape which you can easily swallow almost like a large pill with a gulp of water or juice. Between being cold and using the knife I barely taste it at all and only the cinnamon comes through and tastes kind of like apple cider (which is also a great drink to wash this down with cause it goes with the cinnamon). The cold also greatly cuts down the smell. I've been seeing a lot of good reviews of this brand, especially from the Weston Price folks who are very picky about their food. I hope that as they grow they continue to keep the high quality level and natural manufacturing processes.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is a rough estimate of this product's shelf life once it has been opened, & refrigerated at 34F?**
A: According to the manufacturer, it doesn't need refrigeration since it's a fermented product. Since it's not "perishable" only the manufacturing date is listed on the product, so I don't think you have any worries about it going bad or losing its potency for a very long time.

**Q: Is this cinnamon tingle spicy? The kids like the chocolate cream, but thought of switching it up, but they don't like spicy. Thanks :)**
A: It is 1000 times better than the chocolate flavor, and I would not say it is too spicy. It tastes like cinnamon, and it does have a little tingle to it, but it doesn't burn your tongue or anything. I have two small boys, 3 and 5 years old, and they both take it with a little orange juice to chase it down, and they like it so much better than the chocolate flavor.

**Q: Does this need ice packs to ship?**
A: No, it ships room temp so when it arrives it's in liquid form. You can take it that way if you like but most people prefer to put it in the fridge so it firms up. That's how I like to take it anyway.

**Q: Is this product GMO Free?**
A: The inside label states that they use wild caught krill and cod, never farm raised. Also, the butter oil is from free range grass fed cattle never administered antibiotics or hormones. They strive to get the best sources of fish from cold waters. Because this product is not pasteurized, they make extra efforts and make it the way our ancestors did by fermenting the oil to archive the best results. They also test for metals and toxins in small batches to ensure consistency. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly great taste! Like an oily red hot!! 😆
*by J***R on January 24, 2018*

Ok so I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of this product. I had read some reviews about the taste and they were mixed. I have been giving my baby, now a toddler, the plain fermented cod liver oil and to me the smell alone was utterly repulsive. Even cleaning the spoon and having ANY little bit touch something else made me want to gag. The couple of times I took it myself were like finding a dead fish in the trash and eating it!!! Disgusting!! My son on the other hand was fine with it. Shows how our taste buds are a conditioning. I also had the butter p can flavored butter oil and THAT I loved. So anyway I received this product and opened it, the smell was delightful as cinnamon is one of my all time favorite spices. I gave the first, unrefridgerated dose to my son and he loved it. So I put it in the fridge and after it gelled I embarked on what I thought was going to make me hate cinnamon for the rest of my life. The oily texture is still a bit offputting but the taste is AMAZING!! Absolutely zero fish taste in my opinion. I love it!!! Of course coming from the familiarity of the original flavored product this is by far the biggest taste improvement EVER!!! To those who know nothing about this product they may be critical of the taste but TRUST me it is FAR better than the original. I will now be a loyal purchaser of this product. The health benefits are amazing!! If you buy from this specific company there is a wonderful information sheet enclosed. That was very helpful although I had been a follower of theWAPF philosophy for some time and I am also a certified primal health coach. I would highly recommend this product.
