They are sturdy, works great. I make protein shakes that are fairly thick and sometimes with fruit chunks, it passes through the straw without a problem. I didn't need that many, but I bought these because it had the straw cleaner. Ended up I used more of the straws because they were great with other things (drinks out in the yard, etc). The straw cleaner is a must. No matter how hard you try to clean a straw, even put it in the dishwasher, the center never gets clean. This works perfectly.
