## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it use with 3d printing pen? Is a heated build platform necessary?**
A: Heated platforms arnt necessary for pla but are beneficial to keeping the part stuck to the build plate on a printer (which is necessary) this doesn’t matter so much with a pen as it’s not a machine trying to print a pattern

**Q: What retraction settings are you using for esun pla+?**
A: Run a retraction test print and you will find the best settings for your machine... With sun pla my retraction are 4.5mm/50mms

**Q: Has anyone tried to use vacuum bag for carbon fibre or fibreglass moulds?**
A: I found these vacuum bags and pump work flawlessly. Just ensure the bag is zipped/sealed perfectly (clip tools usually does the job) and then place the pump carefully over the valve. A flat surface is essential to allow good flat contact between pump and valve. If done correctly it takes around 30-60 seconds to achieve a really good vacuum. I'd definitely recommend these, and happy to buy more bags if/when required.

**Q: What is the difference between pla+ and pla?**
A: There is no such thing as pure PLA on the market. everone adds other materials for colour, finish or finished print properties. PLA+ is generally meant to represent a superior PLA product, how varies by manufacturer

I got this as I'm terrible for leaving my filament out. It heats up well, and does let the spool spin, but, if the filament is caught up on the reel in any way, it will jam and it's a pain when it does, so only get this if your using a good quality filament which is guaranteed to be tangle free. It's easy to use, it's quiet and it was a great buy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent, cheap dryer box

I bought this dryer box because I had a spool of eSUN PLA filament which had sucked up too much moisture, leading to stringy prints with poor layer adhesion. I chose this particular dryer box simply because it was so cheap and as I'd never used one before, I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case it wasn't very effective. I know, "you get what you pay for" and buying cheap is often a mistake, but I just wanted to see whether the concept worked at all first. I needn't have worried however - this dryer box works perfectly, and after dropping my PLA in over night (it takes around 8 hours), the spool was returned to perfect working order; result! It will also work with other types of filament, but I have only tried it with PLA so far. Other types of filament have higher temperature requirements for drying, but as this box has presets for those I'm sure it'll do just as good a job if/when I need to use it with them. I've only dropped one star because the build quality isn't fantastic - the lid feels quite fragile and I don't think the box would survive a drop. This I'm sure is where the cost savings are being made and for such a low price, they certainly aren't issues that would stop me from recommending this device to anyone who needs one.
