Balance is good. Blade is very sharp. Carrying case works very well knife locks in and you have no fears carrying upside down or on a pack. The only issue I have is I set my backpack down and the handle of the knife got all scraped up by a rock and just a few seconds. I am not too concerned with things being pretty but for this to happen so quickly was a little bit unnerving.
