So 3 n 1 is more for metal to metal moving part that work together like gears, chains, hinges.  10p is mineral based and formulated to seal the o rings and gaskets in the air tool..

A: The viscosity per the MSDS is 14-16 cSt at 40C, so this equates to about a 1.5W oil. Those saying 10 are grossly misinformed.
