The transfer switch forces one to shut off the main to the grid and flip the 50A breaker on. He also installed a 50A twist connector outside on the house. I ordered a 50A cable to connect the generator to the house. If the load on the generator doesn’t exceed 50A, one might be able to run the A/C. My A/C is on 30A breaker.
