Product description There are some who consider Cod Liver a real delicacy, often considered a serious alternative to foie gras. This is from Iceland, where everybody is very healthy and they eat a lot of cod liver. It's rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA and a plentiful source of vitamins A and D. Its oil helps keep your cardiovascular function healthy and maintain healthy cholesterol levels. It has been poached in it's own oil and comes in a sardine-sized tin. Review: Just had one tin so far - It's good stuff! - I'd been meaning to get some cod liver ever since I saw Dr Berg mention it a couple years back. I saw the reviews here and decided to order. Vitamin A is crucial for eye health and this is why I ordered them, as they're packed full of Vitamin A and D. We all know that D is excellent for our health. I didn't know what to expect taste-wise but they're so good! I was thinking perhaps it would be a strong fishy flavour but it's anything but. The livers are tender and mildly flavoured, they taste luxurious and they come in the liver oil, plenty of it. I made sure not to waste a drop. I had them with ryvita and made sure every drop of oil was absorbed. I've bought some gorgeous sourdough to have with them now. I will have them twice a week and will see how it goes. I slept so much better the night after I had them the first time. I think I must have been in great need of the Vitamin D. I always want a stock of these from now on.

**Q: What is the drained weight?**
A: I don't have any of this at present, but if someone from Amazon would like to take a look at the tin then that information should be printed on there!

**Q: Could you tell me the nutritional information on the tin please?**
A: These are cod livers in cod liver oil with 1.6% salt added- nothing else. As far as I can remember, the tin does not boast about the nutritional value of this product- it does not have to as this is one of the most nutritious of all foods with many health benefits. Just do a web search to discover just how good cod livers in cod liver oil is for you!

**Q: What is the drained weight?**
A: I have bought this item many times. It’s good quality and the price is reasonable. Regarding the drained weight, it’s not possible to tell exactly as sometimes there is more liver in a tin and sometimes less as there is more oil. But still you benefit from the oil too so I wouldn’t worry so much about this. I guess it’s difficult to pack the exact amount of liver into each can.

**Q: How do I cook this?**
A: This product is already cooked and ready to eat. If you wish to eat it warmed up, then just tip contents out of can into a pan and warm gently with occasional stir. A minute or so should warm it enough- over-cooking will spoil it.

absolutely love this , mild fish taste almost tuna like , an absolute bargain , when buying 12 , as 1 tin on ebay Is about £10 . lots of oil inside the tin , cost me £34 but price fluctuates , i eat lots of wholefoods and lentils , organic fruits and vegetables , i grow broccoli/calabrese sprouts in jars , this lovely cod liver is a great addition to my diet , thanks amazon and seller ....
