**Q: I'm stuck deciding between this(too dark? Mid fold gets in the way?rather have container cap) and bamboo reversible + melamine with plastic bowls?**
A: The fold definitely does not get in the way, and while I was also hesitant about the dark board at first, it's very nice once you get used to it. There is only one reason I might suggest against this board. The gold lines are painted onto the surface of the board, and there is no sealant over top of them. The lines on my board have already started to wear away in the center, and in the long run, I'm going to have to find a way to repaint them and seal the board properly, against future wear. Though I might just buy another one, and apply a coat of sealant right away, before use.

**Q: Its a 'cherry veneer' but what is the material beneath the veneer? Is it particle board, or solid wood? If I got it I'd be considering refinishing...**

Very nice set, seems well made but only time will tell on that. Marked it down by two stars due to the fact that one of the things that really makes me angry is when an item is NOT exactly as shown in the pictures. This item definitely shows the board with a raised edge that would help to keep the stones on the board. The one I have been sent has no such edge and I really believe that it is misleading to supply a product that is different to the one advertised. A pity as this means I would not recommend this supplier as 100%. I will keep 5his item as I just can’t be bothered to go through all the hassle of returning it
