Connected a Mico dvd player to a new Samsung smart tv and used the usb socket on the tv to provide power to the adapter. I ignored that and set the source on the tv remote to hdmi and the picture from the dvd appeared on the screen. And this one has a power supply with it. The only thing that would have given 5 stars would be if it sent a signal to the TV that you had switched on. The SCART device does send this, and the HDMI can do this. What this means for someone who is confused by their remote as nd settings is to change the tv’s input.
