Otherwise, the SSD won't cool properly. This has explained the complaints about some of the Samsung SSD overheating problems. This is also where the included 0.5 and 1.0mm thermal tape are best used to solve the problem. Just turn your SSD sideways and check that the black modules all rise to the same height.
