Yes, there was some that did die in the walls BUT I did place a fragrant dryer sheet. The mice will decompose for there is nothing to them. This way you keep the population decimated. I've been using this for five years now....Itworks and we live in a rural area of Nevada surrounded by farms so the rodent population is high. Rodents only like to travel short distances from theirnests so if you keep the population down around your house that is the goal. If you have pets running around this way probably won't work for you.
