A: ABSOLUTELY NOT. You need a very specific pair of gloves, Hercules R8E Needlestick Resistant Glove, Size: XL. They're available here: http://www.pcgsafety.com/Products/HexArmor/3180-XL/16597/HEX3180-XL DO NOT tell them you want them to handle venomous snakes. If you do, they won't sell them to you. Tell them you need NEEDLE STICK PROTECTION solidly up to your elbows. Do not purchase any other HexArmor gloves for this purpose, those will NOT provide the protection you need. A hospital bill for a rattlesnake bite can easily run $150,000-

**Q: How well do these work for something you need dexterity for? Such as sugar work.**
A: I use mine for pulled pork. Not sure what sugar work is.

**Q: How thick is the material? Could these be used for handling feral cats, to protect the wearer from cat scratches?**
A: These gloves are for use with non-acidic chemicals.  They are not puncture resistant. They would not be recommended for protection against cat claws or teeth.

**Q: I want to use these when trimming junipers, which are very prickly. I have large hands for a woman. How can I tell what size to buy?**
A: Large might be ok for you. These gloves are very sticky at first. You may want to try a leather glove for your job.
