A bit pricey, I worked in the ceramics industry, but still worth every penny! Most stones are too small and too thin to cook a large Pizza, or retain enough heat to give a good crispy crust. I have a home commercial style stove so it fit my rack like a glove, and there was space for air flow all the way around. I placed it on my top rack where the heat is highest. I preheated it for 90 minutes at 500 degrees and just before putting my pizza in I dropped the temperature to 450.I got a perfect near wood fired crust, it cooked in about 5 minutes, and I got some nice even charring for that wonderful caramelized dough flavor.Like I said worth every penny! Thanks for making a stone of that size, I would recommend making one about an inch smaller all the way around for more standard ovens that can't hold a full size cookie sheet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid Pizza Stone *by M***T on August 11, 2019* I like that this stone is 1" thick. Very Sturdy. The even heat makes a great pizza. ### ⭐ Very poor workmanship *by B***S on August 2, 2022* Just unpackaged stone. This manufacturer uses styrofoam peanuts which are about as messy as could be. Have not put the stone through the rigors yet. First impression (after the packaging) is the workmanship. The stone measures differently from side to side on both axis. The surfaces are both full of divots which will serve to collect food particles. For the cost, at least the surfaces should be flawless. Cordierite is not that difficult to work with. I just bought a similar Cordierite stone (16” diameter & 5/8” thick) for use in a smaller oven.
