Review: For my needs and uses; perfection. - I have a handful of bush crafting knives, and a couple survival knives. This knife has the features and design of a really well thought out bush crafting knife, but the stout blade and full tang of a survival knife. And this is a stout blade. The pictures do not do it justice. I think of survival knives as being meant to do most of the work as a bushcraft knife, but sacrificing some of the ability to do fine work and fine slicing in order to have a beefier, more durable blade, and a little more chopping power. This knife is a compromise between bushcraft and survival, I would say, but has such good blade profile and edge, that you are really not giving up much in the way of performance to get the stronger blade. The size of the blade is perhaps the perfect compromise between carving/making tools and batoning. It is clear that an enormous amount of thought went into this knife. It is as close to a "one tool solution" as I have ever encountered. I only wish that I had not spent the money on the assorted other bushcraft knives over the years. This is the one. If I had bought this one first, I would not have needed another one. This is an terrific tool, flawlessly made from high quality materials. It is probably the perfect size and weight for someone who uses a knife a lot, and uses it strenuously. I love the kydex sheath. It fits exactly right, and holds the blade with precisely the right amount of purchase. Unlike most bush crafting knives, this knife could be used as a reasonable defensive option. In a tight spot, I would rather have my ESEE CM6 in my hands, but the BOB would get the job done too. I think that we learn to bushcraft to avoid some of the less desirable aspects of humanity, but there is always the possibility that trouble finds you out in some remote location. I paid $126 for this knife and sheath. It is a terrific, substantial knife for the money. That is money well spent. This knife will almost certainly be handed down to the next generation at some point. And, best of all for me, it fits my large hands well in several grips. I find the size, shape, and weight of the knife to be outstanding for me, but I am a big, active guy, who will put this knife to heavy use. The BOB may be more knife than a small to medium sized person really needs. My daughter uses a Helle Odel, for example, and the Helle Temegami is a fantastic (but pricey) knife for small to mid sized hands. So far the BOB knife has excelled at everything I have used it for. What a great knife this is! It really exceeded my expectations, and I was expecting a lot.
Review: Will surprise you with the inherent quality/price ratio! - This is a lot of knife for the dollar spent. Not a hand made; hand forged blade if that's what you're looking for, but this blade will help you survive your time in the woods! First of all, I must admit I am biased to the authentic hand-forged blades of the few individuals in that business today who have excelled; Matt Lesniewski of ML Knives, Lucas Bullington of LucasForge, and an new up comer in the field, Steve Kowaleski of Steven K Custom Knives; but we're not here to compare this to the hand forged classics by individual Bladesmiths, they cost two to three times more. If saving $$$ is in your sight; you must try this. It does the work of the more expensive blades; even though it may not share the bragging rights as will the legendary custom mades. That said; this knife is one tough blade. Out of the box is passes the paper test; easily cutting slivers from the single thin sheet; and it gets better from there. A very well-built 'production' knife that surpasses most of those I've experienced costing much more. It possesses a nicely fine finish both on the blade and the scales. No rough spots found anywhere on my purchased product. I've put it through its paces in the woods too, battoning, skinning, notching stakes, and even for use as a fine cooking utensil. If you're looking for a tough, long lasting, but kind to your pocketbook blade; this is well worth the purchase. A word of advice; keep it oiled and it will last long enough to pass it to your next generation! Thanks for reading!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Futuristic Bush Crafter
*by K***E on June 28, 2016*

Great blade, especially for the money. Craftsmanship is excellent. And it comes with the sharpest factory edge I've ever seen! Love or hate the Scandi grind (with micro-bevel), they are super sharp and cut and slice very smoothly. This particular grind gives you the slicing capability of a much thinner blade, along with the utility and robustness of a thick blade. The handle is very big and comfortable. You can choke up and do the precise woodwork this blade was meant for, or if this is your only knife, along with a lanyard, you can hold the knife much lower on the large handle and you can do the kind of chopping you'd do with a bigger knife. For its size, its medium weight, or maybe on the low end of heavy, but it has such good balance, the weight is not a factor at all. It gives you the feeling of holding a tool. And the low-profile Kydex sheath holds it close to your belt, so you don't really notice the weight while its sheathed. With the coyote brown micarta scales, and the tumble finish, it has the aesthetic appeal of a classic bush crafter, but it has more utility than those old style knifes that don't have finger guards, pommels, or big handles. Its such a nice looking and well-designed knife, you'll be hesitant to put mileage on it, and it will get rust specks very easily if you don't keep it lubed, but otherwise its a fantastic knife!
