Another reviewer recommended adding the 3M double sided foam pad between the adapter and the radio's back side and it works perfectly. It fights snug and there isn't any wiggle room as mentioned by other reviewers. I can easily add the power connectors and use the rear SO-239 antenna connector. I found out last week that the radio prefers to use the front BNC connector and has to constantly power a relay to use the rear antenna connector. So the FT-818ND will use a little less power if you use the BNC connector in the front versus the rear SO-239. This also eliminates any cable management problems if your using this adapter.Highly recommend this adapter it makes the power connector nice and snug with no worry of it falling out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2023* Works exactly as advertised ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Unusable as arrived. When I opened the box and removed it, I noticed a bit of heft to it. Much heavier than 3d printed ones. Doing SOTA on 14ers makes me a weight weenie. I attached it to the back of the 817, and immediately noticed that it hangs off the back, and does not fit tight to the radio. The hole that fits over the ground screw area, needs to be deeper. The real killer was that the powerpoles were not seated coorectly in the WindCamp adapter. As I tried to attach a battery, the connection was not easy, and I stopped to investigate. The positive powerpole was installed incorrectly. The crimped connector was installed in the housing wrong. It extends clear into the plastic of the housing, past the molded in spring steel. I don't know if I can fix it, or just send it back. The manufacturer goofed up!
