Of all the available natural colored pellets (because I won't feed artificially colored pellets) available in the US, Psittacus as a brand has the most Vitamin A and beta carotene of any pellet brand; most parrots in captivity are Vitamin A deficient, and beta carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the bird's body...Omega and the High Energy Breeding are absolute tops in the beta carotene content (and you cannot overdose your bird on beta carotene, but you can on pure Vitamin A). This is done primarily through the addition of red palm oil, which is eaten in the wild by African and New World parrot species, and provides rich nutrition and quality fats along with all the other good things in it. This pellet is highly palatable and is the primary pellet for my large flock. Birds happily eat it, even my small pionus, all the way to my large birds.
