I was a little worried about the color, my initial thought was they were slightly too pinkish in the wood tone, but I rubbed orange oil on the wood to give them a richer look, and it worked perfectly. The orange oil gave them a deeper brown hue that matched our table and antique French and chairs.

**Q: Are these really oak color ?**
A: These are a very light wood color. I would call them more of a birch color than oak.

**Q: Can you sand and stain them another color?**
A: Yes, easy. I am not sure you would even need to send them if you go for a darker look.  

If you want something lighter though, it might be a problem. They have a  rough surface, not sure if the underlying layer is lighter.

**Q: Ladderback chairs?**
A: The chairs I ordered were not ladderback but French country style as shown in the corresponding picture to the request.

**Q: Are all 6 chairs in one box when shipped?**
A: We bought 4 chairs and as I recall two boxes arrived, each containing two chairs.

We actually love these chairs. For the price it’s just a STEAL DEAL. It weighs like a normal chair. Very comfortable to sit in. I’m very happy with these chairs! I saw them on other websites for $100 more so I was a little dubious about the quality but they’re great! The wood is a beautiful color and they were easy to put together!
