After years of fussing with blankets that would never stay in place, I'm glad I finally spent the money to get a product specifically made for this! It seems to stay in place just fine (even without tucking the PVC handle between the seat back and base). Haven't had to worry about waterproof properties just yet, but I'm not a clean-freak with my vehicles anyway, so a little seepage wouldn't concern me even if it did occur (a couple reviewers have noted this to be an issue).This is a quick and easy install for those times when I want to use it, and comes off and tucks away just as easily for the majority of the time that I'm not using it. I don't know how the section covering the side bolsters can stay on like it shows in the product photos as there are no adhesive on the back of the seat cover nor are there any retentions straps in that area.
