She only uses one, but keeps both batteries charged so that she can swap them out. 1 lasts for about 4 hours, so if she is going somewhere, she may need to swap between them. She finds the brace quite comfortable and the lights are bright enough that she can see (and operate) the button through her trousers. I tried one for an evening and it helped my knee, but that was only a temporary twisting that I had done that was better within a day, so I didn't need to use the brace long termed. My very muscular thighs and calf still wrapped easily, although I think that any real walking on my part would have allowed it to slip. The batteries have now been recharged daily for a couple of weeks and show no signs of wearing out.I've seen some write ups that said it wasn't any good, but I've found that like most made in China items, it is luck of the draw because of their shoddy quality control.
