The dial is easy to read, It has a little ajustable "bookmark Arrow" that you can set for your target temp. It seems to be very accurate. It is very well made. Stands up to some heavy use. The stainless steel makes it very easy to keep clean. I love how you can leave it in the oven. I needed a new meat thermometer and liked the idea of not having to pull things in and out of the oven to check the temperature. It's very simple- I put the thermometer in the meat, then push the adjustable dial on the side to the goal temperature. Then I just wait until I see the needed reach where I set the dial. Being a good size, it's very easy to see.
