These seem to be the speakers of choice for the Goldwing. On the Polk web site it indicates that all Polk speakers identified as db, DXi and MM series pass marine certification tests. I have the db501's on my motorcycle and had the db401's on a prior cycle for years and they never missed a beat, rain or shine. I also never avoided spraying them with a hose while washing the bike and never had an issue. **Q: Will these speakers fit the back speakers for a 1500 Honda Goldwing?** A: DB501's will fit in the back on a GL1500. Just installed a pair on my 98 1500 Honda Gold Wing. You have to trim the speaker mounting flange slightly on opposite sides. Tin snips do the job easily. These speakers rock with factory head unit power. **Q: how durable are polkaudio db501 speakers ?** A: We put them in my son's Toyota 4Runner and they have been great, considering they are only 5" speakers. There aren't many applications for 5" speakers, most are 5.25", but if this what you need, I can highly recommend them.
