I got it for my 7 year old for Christmas along with a basic sewing kit. She has been practicing and loves the projects; my only complaint is that you have to photocopy the the patterns, often at 200%, and since we have the Kindle version I thought I could just print them for her. Alas, Kindle does not allow you to print anything, so we cannot use the patterns. While I haven't given it to her yet - 3 more weeks until her birthday - I can see it's just what she needs! I especially like how they tell you exactly what you'll need for each project, what type of stitching you will be doing, templates for making the projects, and my favorite - - a glossary of sewing techniques, complete with very clear diagrams of various types of stitching. Any young girl/woman could use this book for reference, if nothing else.
