The paper is very smooth, and such that fountain pen, micron and uniball gel inks don't appear to bleed. They do show through, especially when wet - less once dry - but they still show. I also tried some light watercolor washes and as you might expect, the paper warps quite a bit, and the color shows through - but less once dry. The book's usefulness will depend on what you use it for. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works and it's cheap *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2017* I write journal regularly as a meditative process to collect my thoughts. As a result I go through them quite fast, each 240pg notebook lasts 4-5 month and that is good enough for me.Before I bought a pair of this Amazon branded notebook, I was using the Moleskin version, which only had 192 pages. Since I am only looking for a medium to write on, the Amazon notebook is a better choice with more pages and cheaper. It arrived and has worked exactly as I expected it to.
