The finish on the Leica version may be better and is 6 bit encoded but so what. Only recent versions Leica lenses have the coding and perhaps a few other brands. The coding only tells the camera what lens is being mounted. No aperture data. That information can be added through the menu. What really counts is that the lens is solidly attached to the camera.
