It is not. The track is molded solid with the tank hull; only the turret is movable (rotates--however, the gun is molded solid with the turret, so it does not elevate or depress). This is constructed exactly like the tanks that originally came with the Marx 54mm WWII Battleground playsets; except that it is much more solid--using a high-quality plastic and, unlike the original Marx Battleground playset tanks, this tank is the perfect/correct scale for 54mm (or 1/32 scale). The measurements for the BMC Sherman tank are about 7 1/2" end-to-end, 4" tall (base of tracks to top of turret), and 3 1/2" wide. This BMC Sherman tank is also far superior to the tanks produced by CTS, which--although advertised as 54mm (1/32nd scale) are both incorrect scale (closer to 48mm or 1/40th scale) and not as solid.
