This is not goose down, nor is it white down. I also saw somewhere that it states "down fiber" which is the remnants (aka leftover waste) from down. None of that necessarily makes it bad; just understand it is most definitely not a true down comforter. Very fluffy and breathable (but I would not say it's lightweight, but it isn't heavy, either -- it's insulating). The material feels luxurious, but I would never sleep with it, or with any down alternative comforter, without a duvet on it. I just feel gross without having a duvet, but I'm also a bit of a. bed snob, too. If that's your thing, then it's soft to the touch. I love that the pouches keep the fluff in their spaces so the comforter isn't lumped at the bottom, top, or sides. It was very clean, didn't smell, and the stitching was all there and as it should be. I washed it and dried it in the dryer before using it. Took about a day or two for it to reach its full fluffiness, which was perfectly acceptable given that it had been vacuum sealed to fit in the box. Just needed to breathe a bit. Couldn't be happier with the bedding.
