It's even visible in a fully lit room but totally unobtrusive at night beacause the viewing angle is set up perfectly for when you're typing, if you're off to the side you can just notice that it's lit.The color tone is the perfect wavelength, not the harsh blue that most blue LEDs give off - it's actually very pleasing to the eyes. Just one example of what rarely happens thee days - the engineers were really thinking about the customer when they designed it.Tocuh/feel and overall height of the keys is very good, the only complaint I have goes towards all the newer keyboards no matter who makes them - I liked it when they had a big backspace key I could easily wham at as I make a lot of mistakes when I try to type in a hurry. No matter, a little program available for free "on the net" called "Sharp Keys" allows you remap keys in seconds, I usually completely turn off the cAPS lOCK key as well as the Insert and Delete keys I just don't use - they're left over frokm the DOS and terminal days. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars leave it to the Chinese! *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2011* Any decent review should have two sides to its' story. When this keyboard arrived, I was delighted to learn that I did not have to deal with any special software in order to install it. On the down side, however, I learned that it requires a USB port. Since I was already using all the USB ports on the back of my computer, I was forced to use a port on the front, which means I now have a rather unsightly wire floppying around on the front of my computer all the time. But that is the least of my problems!True to its' description, the keyboard lights up nicely in blue making it very easy to find an odd key in a darkened room. I have a vision problem, so I needed a lighted keyboard badly. Here is the rub! Leave it to the Chinese not to design the keyboard in the USUAL formet!The Delete, Home, Page Up, Page Down, and End key are in a straight row up and down! None of them are where you EXPECT them to be when you are touch-typing. If you hunt-and-peck, I suppose this arrangement would not pose a problem, but it plays total havoc when you are accustomed to striking a key by touch only, and I assume MOST of us fall into that category. Why would the Chinese take it upon themselves to change the layout of a standard keyboad? I would estimate that I normally type around 70wpm or so, but this rather insane arrangement of the keys has slowed me down to perhaps 20 wpm. I find that I am constantly striking the wrong key, then having to stop and LOOK at the keyboard, then FIND the right key and correct my error.If they had stuck with the conventional keyboard arrangement, the product would be a delight....but at this point, I cannot recommend that anyone else buy it unless you are a hunter-pecker typist. I like the overall "feel" of the keyboard; it is very quiet and has its' good points. I wish they had thought to add a dimming feature to the keyboard. At times, the blue lights are a bit too bright. On a scale of 1 to 10, I am afraid I can only rate it a three.
