Easy to install with silicone adhesive, these discs last up to 4 years and effectively prevent birds from landing, roosting, and nesting on ledges, signs, and beams without harming them. Ideal for commercial and residential use, they offer discreet, eco-friendly bird control that outperforms partial treatments. ## Description Bird Barrier has been providing products to stop birds since 1993. The company's products are installed on thousands of buildings and homes across North America and beyond. Bird Barrier's products are made from high-quality, long lasting material that are designed to blend in with the building so they don't create an eyesore. The products are humane, their only goal is to make birds feel unwelcome and take their mess elsewhere ## Features - COVERS A WHOLE BUILDING – 200 optical gel discs β€” enough to treat every ledge, parapet cap, sign and beam on a site rather than one problem spot. Coverage is what decides whether a gel install works: birds do not leave the property, they relocate to the nearest untreated surface, so partial coverage reads as failure. - STOPS BIRDS LANDING, ROOSTING & NESTING – A multi-sensory bird gel repellent outdoor disc that works through smell, sight and touch β€” a humane alternative to bird spikes, and an effective bird nest blocker on the eaves, beams and ledges birds return to each season. - EASY INSTALLATION, NO TOOLS REQUIRED – Each disc installs in minutes with a small dab of silicone adhesive. Please note: silicone is not included β€” buy it separately, or choose the Optical Gel Starter Kit, which ships with adhesive and cleaner. IMPORTANT: birds leave pheromones that draw them back to the same spot, so thoroughly clean the site with an enzyme cleaner such as Dissolve-It before installing your bird optical gel pucks - ALL-NATURAL & SAFE – A proprietary blend of citronella, mint oil, agar and beeswax gives this bird repellent gel a sticky texture and a scent birds avoid β€” no harsh chemicals, no traps and no harm to the birds. Effective as a pigeon deterrent, barn swallow deterrent, sparrow deterrent and starling deterrent in light, medium or heavy bird pressure, and also on seagulls, crows and woodpeckers. - VERSATILE & LONG-LASTING β€” UP TO 4 YEARS – Mount optical gel discs to deter birds on roofs, beams, signs, soffits, ledges, balconies, porches, railings, HVAC units, windowsills, light fixtures and parapet caps. Discreet enough for commercial frontages β€” the discs blend into the building instead of changing how it looks. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B09J1QY6RP | | Best Sellers Rank | #237,899 in Patio, Lawn & Garden (See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden) #2,827 in Pest Repellents | | Brand Name | Bird Barrier | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars (240) 4.0 out of 5 stars | | Manufacturer | Bird Barrier America | | Material Type | Glue On | | Number Of Pieces | 200 | | Style Name | Modern | | Target Species | Birds | | Unit Count | 200 Count | | Upc | 850030877406 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Bird Barrier - **Material:** Glue On - **Number of Pieces:** 200 - **Style:** Modern - **Target Species:** Birds - **UPC:** 850030877406 - **Unit Count:** 200 Count ## Images ![Optical Gel Bird Repellent Discs, 200 Pack, Pigeon Deterrent - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71rG2EDbR5L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Material Type, Item Package Quantity** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How does Optical Gel work?** A: Optical Gel utilizes a multi-sensory approach to get rid of birds. Sight: Reflects UV light that only birds see. Smell: Birds can’t stand the citronella & peppermint oil smell. Touch: They avoid sticky material (in the unlikely event they touch it). **Q: What is Optical Gel made of?** A: Citronella, peppermint oil, agar and beeswax. Optical Gel is made of all-green natural ingredients making it safe for humans of all ages, and yes...it's even safe for the birds. But they HATE IT! **Q: How does Optical Gel stand up in different weather?** A: Backed by scientific testing, this product is a natural sticky gel that can withstand over 100MPH winds, weather above 105 degrees and below freezing (only once freezing has thawed). Dusty regions like Arizona and Texas won’t stop Optical Gel either. **Q: How long does Optical Gel last for?** A: A: 2 to 4 years, far longer than needed to solve the resident bird problem. In fact in many cases the Optical Gel has successfully kept birds away for more than five years. **Q: Does Optical Gel work on bats or other creatures?** A: It is illegal to use any device not specifically designed for the directed creature. Optical Gel is for birds only. Do not use it for any other animals. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy So Far,, BUY Silicone b4 Placing Deterrents :) *by on Reviewed in the United States May 1, 2026* We have several pillars on our front porch that Birds luv building nests! We are continuing to get the ladder out & taking down nests & moving to the tree next to our porch. We wouldn't mind, BUT birds make "messes" on our porch where we like to sit & keep clean. SO FAR, these discs have stopped the birds from making the nests. I have not yet got a picture of the birds flying away from these deterrents as yet but will attach pictures once I do. About the product: it seems a little expensive, but if it works, I'm happy!!! The product box says what you'll need. We THOUGHT there would be silicone in the product box, BUT THERE IS NOT. I even dumped everything out of the box to confirm :( ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Birds R GONE! FANTASTIC *by on Reviewed in the United States September 2, 2019* This product is amazing. Heard about it from our pool guy after complaining to him about the constant traffic morning and evenings of feral doves/pigeons bathing in our pool's spillover.I'd tried a bunch of things from other barriers (they hopped around), fishing line (they learned to avoid) and a variety of scarecrows, squirt guns etc spiky strips etc.. All of these "barriers" were ugly, not to mention ineffective. Worst of all, the birds never really left the pool alone. They just perched nearby waiting to get at the water. The were a terrible problem. Past Tense! After hearing about these from Joe, I really hesitated to plunk down the bucks, but finally did so and then created a clear shelf to stick them to over the water in the spillway. I also places a couple on the travertine on either end of the water feature to maintain the spacing beyond the water.. It took all of about 15 minutes to put the discs in place, making sure to space them according to the directions on the package - pretty much about 10" apart for this install. The morning before install there had been several birds in the spillway, and many more perching about 15 feet away, watching it closely for their turn. Miracle of miricles, once these discs were installed there were no more and have been no more doves - period, not in the spillover, not on the adjacent travertine, and not perching on the fence nearby. As best I can tell the main deterrent is visual - I have seen their shadows as some have flown by - but probably 30 - 40 feet or higher. They clearly are being deterred by what they see.Really interesting thing is that it hasn't deterred other varieties of birds in the yard. I've still got quail families coming thru the yard (but not the pool) and yesterday a pair of cardinals landing on the spa coping but soon flew off to a nearby tree in my yard. Love the birds - just not the doves/pigeoons!!! ### ⭐ BIRDS GET STUCK AND DIE!!!! *by on Reviewed in the United States December 7, 2024* I cleaned the areas as per the directions and then I TSP'd on the perches. Then 3 coats of high gloss paint. Then I siliconed the cups to the perch spots and waited. At first it was great, no birds, until it wasn't. It took about 3 weeks and the first one that got stuck violently tried to free himself; it was a bloody mess. I thought it was a fluke so after choking back tears I cleaned it up and waited. It happened three or four additional times and I didn't have the stomach to let it continue. However, I put over 25 of the cups high up and it wasn't that simple to remove them. I had to pay somebody to come and take them all down and clean up the blood and entrails and then repaint those areas of my patio. By the time the painter got out to do the job, I was averaging one to two dead birds every week. I thought the birds would simply smell it and be turned off. They sat right in it, and the product is so sticky, almost like silicone, and they couldn't get out of it. It was as bad as gluetraps. Very inhumane. I didn't take pictures or video because it was disgusting! And I already felt like an executioner and I didn't want pictures to remind me. It was a great idea, but another failed idea. ## Frequently Bought Together - Bird Barrier Optical Gel Bird Deterrent – 200 Pack Bird Gel – Deters Most Species Including Pigeons, Woodpeckers, Gulls, Crows, Starlings – Ideal for Ledges, Balconies, Signs, Equipment - Bird Barrier Dissolve-It Max Enzyme Cleaner - Bird Dropping Cleaner - Dissolves Waste – Treat Affected Areas Before Installing Bird Control Products - Bird Cage Cleaner - 1 Pint Makes 1/2 Gallon --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/376978733-optical-gel-bird-repellent-discs-200-pack-pigeon-deterrent](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/376978733-optical-gel-bird-repellent-discs-200-pack-pigeon-deterrent) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
