A: The leash connects right in to the doll toy for it to function.  Batteries go into the body of the dog underneath.  It’s very cute, my daughter loves it!!

**Q: What is the length of the leash?**
A: 32 inches from least insertion site on pet dog to where the little fingers go on the handhold

**Q: Best age for toy?**
A: 6 or 7

**Q: Can the tutu be removed?**
A: I don’t know the answer to your question so I’m sorry. We gave it as a gift. It does have to take special AA batteries or it won’t work with standard AA batteries
