Review: Fun kit to start with - Fun kit to start with. The directions are reasonably clear and it includes almost everything you need to get started. You will need to supply at least a quart jar in which to culture it. I just bottled my first batch and am waiting patiently for it to carbonate now. Update: it is working great. The kefir grains are easy to work with and the finished product is very tasty. I like it best with a fruit juice for the second fermentation.
Review: Good product though - It worked too well. I couldn't keep up. Living in Pakistan it is hard to get fresh milk. All they sale at the commissary is UHT. I had to go to a small market to buy fresh. It made kefir so fast I could not keep up. I had a fridge full. I finally gave up. Good product though. I would recommend.

**Q: will this product work in higher elevations? I live at an elevation of 5,000**
A: No worries at all! The water kefir will still work perfectly.:-)

**Q: Do you know which cultures are in this kit?**
A: Our heirloom (reusable) water kefir grains are included in this kit.

**Q: I understand that this is water kefir. I was wondering if we could make this by dairy as well? Or is it just water?**
A: From my understanding, you cannot use water kefir grains to make dairy kefir.  I believe it might be possible to go the other way, use dairy grains to make water kefir, but not water kefir grains for dairy kefir.  If you did try to do this, it is possible you would kill the grains (perhaps not the first batch but eventually).

The kit is great, but the kefir is dead. I've followed the directions, and I only got about 10 grains to grow. Not a fan of the brand
