- JUST TWO INGREDIENTS, NOTHING HIDDEN: Whole black sesame seeds (kala til) and unrefined jaggery. That is the entire list. No refined sugar, no maida, no palm oil, no glucose syrup, no preservatives, no artificial colour or flavour. Turn the pack over and you will recognise every word on it.
- MADE THE BIHARI WAY, BY HAND: Sesame is dry-roasted in small batches in an iron kadhai until the seeds crackle, then folded into jaggery cooked to single-thread consistency and rolled by hand while still warm. Same method our mother, Savita Devi, has used for thirty years. The brand carries her name.
