Review: Mini tower speakers masquerading as book shelf speakers - I dont know who's book shelf these would fit on because they are huge, its more of how deep they are. Which is odd because modern TVs tend to be so thin. My TV is a modern Bravia and is as thin as it gets so the contrast in depth between the two is really hard to make work aesthetically speaking. That being said, the sound is really fantastic, probably some of the best at this price point. I pair it with and older marantz from the early 2000s and its warm sound pairs nicely with it. Probably not as precise in its sound as some other monitor speakers, but I prefer the non clinical sound of them. I listen to alot of acoustic performances and vocal stuff and these work great for this. They also work great for movies. When straight out of the box, the tribble can be really harsh until the break in period is done, it took a couple of hours of listening for it to sound the right way. Initially tribble was painful but sounds excellent now. The bass with these is really nice, and gets it just a enough umph to make getting an external subwoofer and option but not a necessity, but it all depends on what you listen to. The general look is really nice for the speakers, the faux wood covering is kind cheap looking on close inspection and I'd imagine it not holding up over the decades but they look just fine from a normal distance. Overall appearance is sharp. I just wish they were not as deep for my kind of set up.
Review: Would buy again and again - I’m not an audiophile, so take this from a layman’s perspective who just loves music. I did a couple of days worth of research regarding compatibilities of speakers, my amp (Yamaha entry level A-S301) and my preferred style of music (metal) and volume preferences (I like loud, but not so loud my neighbors in this development have to listen, too). So my review is purely emotion and how I feel listening to them, no specs as I’m not the guy you’d want for that. These babies are amazing. They get loud and maintain clarity without distortion or rumbling. And I’ve only gone as loud as maybe 25% of what they’re capable. Treble and bass each have distinct clear space and allow me to adjust and make noticeable improvements when necessary. Songs I’ve heard for years have a new, fresh even better sound - probably the way the artists had intended. And these shelf speakers simply look fantastic. I would purchase these again and again without a moments hesitation.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How does the signature elite differ from the signature?**
A: Hello, the new ES speaker series have new drivers and slight cosmetic changes. They are also voiced a little differently as well.

**Q: Tell me these speakers will sound a whole lot better than my Polk tsi200 and a sub. I’m thinking of a pair of these are they worth the difference**
A: They will definitely be fuller sounding. I use a 15 sub with my home theater but they could stand alone.

**Q: Are these sold as a pair or individually?**
A: Hello and thank you for your question. The Polk Audio ES60 tower speakers are sold individually.

**Q: I cannot remove the red & black plastic to push banana plug. I tried different knives & have done this with many speakers. Is there a trick to it?**
A: I also had a difficult time removing the caps. What I ended up doing, it worked quite well, was to use a very small screwdriver, one that I usually use for small electronics or eyeglass work (Flathead not Phillips of course), and used this small screwdriver to pry out the plastic cap and it worked like a snap.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid value for money
*by A***E on May 25, 2026*

As someone who has owned speakers that cost 8 times as much as this, these are fantastic for the price. They go really deep due to the power port (audio science review has a frequency response graph that confirms this), and they're on the brightish neutral side without being fatiguing, which is something I love. They look high quality, and aren't hard to drive amplifier wise. Would definitely recommend especially when they're on sale.
