The best part is the long cord that helps you keep the striker and the flint together so you don't lose anything. Plus the long length of the cord allows for the full range of motion needed for striking and getting your fire going. The bottle opener is not the best one I have ever used but the convenience factor of it being a part of the striker is a great plus. One less thing to have to bring on my next camping trip :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly What I Wanted - No Surprises. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2017* I purchased the Ferro Firesteel Rod for a weekend backpacking trip. I was afraid it would not arrive before my trip but showed up almost exactly as the estimated delivery time had stated. The packaging was a small box and was delivered via USPS - very nicely tucked away and in perfect condition.The firesteel rod itself is very nice - it feels firm and durable in the hand despite my initial concerns for the point where the wood meets the steel. The steel has some sort of coating on it that makes the first use a bit difficult; however, after a few strikes the coating scratches off and the sparks this little puppy create are very nice.- On that note - I did find the little piece of steel that this comes with a bit useless.
