The blanket is definitely big enough for two - it is made out of 'tent' material. I tested it with water and it did repel the water quite well, however if the water sits it will leak through; think tent material. I did not test sand / dirt but with the tent material I am confident that it will be a breeze to shake off. The pillow is made of a real thin material and it is very comfy. Both are very compact as advertised and exactly what I was looking for - I will always be ready for a sit in the park, at the beach or star gazing.My original order did not have the pillow so I contacted the seller- the pillow arrived within 3days. They included their water-proof phone case.I have a couple of these and they are very handy. However, this has a really neat feature that I have not seen before. There is an external headphone jack so that you can keep your phone protected but still listen to music or talk without removing the phone from the case. I can see that that would be great for a rainy or boating day but have not tested it while phone is submerged. Kind of scared because the external jack is not rubberized so I probably won't test that.
