All I can say is this is the best thing I've ever done. I fall asleep faster and I sleep through the night. I just can't say enough positive things about this pillow. Love it and just wish I had done it sooner. I just started using the pillow so I can't comment on it's shape retention over the long haul, but I have absolutely no complaints about it! It doesn't seem to retain heat and it keeps it's shape. It is firm but maybe a better description would be firm but comfortable.
