However, two things happened: a) the ipod's battery was depleted (for some reason, I expected one of the two-pronged cords would provide a charge) and b) the system's preset buttons became unresponsive to the touch. I unplugged the ipod and reset the preset buttons and I've had no problems at all since then (several months ago) - however, I haven't bothered to use the ipod since then.
