And -- great book! *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2015* Initial review, with one star given: Completely misprinted. Over 50 pages of the book are missing. An inexcusable mistake from McGraw Hill.(I was particularly perturbed because I had taken this book to Latin America with me so I could do some intensive review, and I had no way of getting another copy while I was down there.)New review: I asked to return this book to Amazon, and I got a full refund, with no need to return the book. Then, I received a wonderful email from Christopher at McGraw Hill with an apology (which was not needed, but appreciated nonetheless) and a sincere request to fix the issue by sending me another copy right away. Thanks so much, Christopher! I love that you stand behind your books and support your authors. I really appreciate that the authors (Ronni Gordon and David Stillman) are interested in the reviews of the book, and that they contacted McGraw Hill, and that Christopher went to such trouble to help me out.Having said all of that, as I really wanted to be able to do this intensive Spanish review on my trip, I bought and downloaded the Kindle version, and it rocks -- beautifully laid out, with an easy way to switch between the exercises and the answer key. The book is very well written -- clear, thorough and concise. There is also an app (Language Lab) that McGraw has on the app store that is fantastic and really supports the material in the book. My favorite are the extensive vocabulary flashcards -- I am so used to making my own, and I am happy not to have to do so. I've seen a lot (a lot!) of Spanish texts in my time, but this one really does beat them all with its clarity, organization, accuracy and thoroughness.So -- to sum up: Odd, surely rare printing issue with my copy of the book. I am sure the others are fine. Great customer service from McGraw Hill. And a terrific book all around -- whether printed or Kindle version. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent book for the advanced beginner to intermediate level student of Spanish *by L***U on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2017* As an intermediate speaker of Spanish I found this to be an excellent tool for reinforcing and expanding my understanding of Spanish grammar while helping me put the enhanced understanding into practice. The book is clearly written, comprehensive and frequently provides insights that I had not previously encountered. The book is an excellent grammar reference and the exercises are spot on. I particularly benefited from the exercises where I had to choose between the preterite and the imperfect tenses, those for ser and estar, those for para and por and those for the definite articles. I have tried at least 5 other books that supposedly were designed for review and practice of Spanish but none comes close to this one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like it! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2017* This book is great but not for an absolute beginner. A few reasons I say that. (1) It's information-dense so you'll be given lots of instruction on every page. (2) It contains exercises at the end of each lesson and has an answer key so you can check your answers--but the instruction for those exercises is all in Spanish. (3) they dive right into verbs so it's not like a beginner book where they start by teaching you nouns for vocabulary. If you already know some Spanish and want to progress or you want to understand Spanish grammar better, it's a great book. It also comes with an app (see the back cover) that lets you access lots of flash cards and resources.
