Jump Aboard This Grant and Harlow Train, Like Right NOW!!!

*by L***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2014*

**** Disclaimer (since it wasn't added to the beginning of the book!)****Grab some tissues, wine, chocolate, and a friend, because you are in for one helluva story!FAVORITE ABBI GLINES BOOK TO DATE!HOLD THE FLIPPIN' PHONES!!! HANDS DOWN! NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS BOOK!I am:MIND BLOWNThrottledShakenTwistedNervousHappyVulnerableSacredSadBrokenBatteredCrackedHappy (again)PukeyWorriedBawlingI LOVE ABBI GLINES! She went and ruined me. I didn't think she could continue on with this series the way that she has. She has pulled off the unthinkable with Grant, Harlow, Nan, Rush, Blaire, and the gang. She has thrown us to the freaking wolves, to be eaten alive. I am stunned. Literally stunned, right now. I don't even know what to think.Ok, who doesn't LOVE Grant? Well I do. So much. Always have. He has shined through in every book since Fallen Too Far. But now, now we see his rays and he is one guy that has forever changed me. The way we get to be inside his head, is brilliant. I loved it, too much. We see a side that we weren't probably ready to see, the side that shows his imperfections; that he is a fictional human with flaws. But by golly, this just made him even more dreamy and had my drooling a little bit. And sighing, a lot! He wins in the run of perfect Rosemany Beach Hotties! I thought That Rush was the one for me, then Woods, but I know, now, that it has and will always be Grant! We know the ways of the wicked Nan, the ways that eat us alive, and the ways that she throws hate at everyone. Well that doesn't change. Not one bit. Her hate is flowing through her body, like it should be her blood. Or maybe she was bathed in it. I don't know, but it is a wicked kick to the teeth. The venom she spews, is awful and makes me sick to my stomach. It was expected of course, since that is all we know Nan to do. But even with her spewing her venom, and being Nan, there is something that is shared with us as these stories progress. She has severe Daddy Issues, like worse than I thought possible, and I really think she is missing a soul, and she's lacking in the guidance dept. She just wants to be loved, liked, hugged, cherished, and possibly to fit in. She is missing out on so much. And I think we will see more depth to her, eventually. But for now, I hope under her layers she is hiding decent human being, who chooses not to be seen. YET! I think her layers are very deceiving. Like her, but she puts this front up, and well she deserves everything she gets in retaliation. So anyways, my rant is over. However, I think what we see of Nan, will forever change as these books progress. We get more and more of her, with each book. And yeh, we don't know the trueness of her, YET! But in the meantime, I think we need to just accept her and hope she can change......(I won't hold my breath!)Sweet Sweet Honey! That is my love, Harlow! She just completed this book. Her being in it, just changed the dynamic of everything Rosemary Beach. She throws out all the other darling doves that we have grown to love. She overshadows them, like no other. The naivety, sweetness, quietness, and endearment that she carries, really grab onto your heart. She plants herself firmly in your heart. We have little bits and pieces of Harlow before, but not like this. She brought her A Game! I didn't expect for so much growth for a very quiet, reclused character, like Harlow. She is a chick who can kick some serious butt! She pulls on her big girl panties, and shows you what is up.Grant and Harlow, ate me alive. Seriously. I may never be the same. I LOVE them. Their relationship is very unique, fragile, and a little needy. But a beautiful needy. One that heals and makes you happy, and one that you can depend on for a great love. They share a certain bond, not the best bond, but one that will always be a hand in where they are and how they met. I was amazed with their comfort with one another. It was pure and innocent, to an extent. Minus those steamier scenes, but full of desires! We never really got a glimpse of Grant with anyone, all.the.time., so seeing him with Harlow, was like a warm Spring breeze. It was refreshing and had my heart skipping some beats. I will say, that I am Team Gralow! (We need shirts made!) I stand behind these two 100%! I approve of TEAM GRALOW! Just in case you were wondering. Can we have more of them now?!?!!?Why do we have to wait so long for their next book?!?!!? I might crawl a hole a die. Or I won't. But I am bawling still, like big yucky tears. This book was packed to the brim with everything you could imagine, and couldn't imagine. Somethings I never saw coming. And Kiro, he was one of them! Talk about WONDERFUL! He made me a Kiro lover. He redeemed himself and then some. I am very interested in how this part of the story plays out in the next book. BC it was a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE part of the book! Abbi Glines knows how to make her fans crazy, and certainly knows how to please us with her steamier scenes. They were SPICY! I am itching for One More Chance, like hardcore. I may end up drinking myself into oblivion tonight with the way things ended. It was heavy and shot right through my heart. I may have mentioned that I'm still bawling, bc well who can take it when things just surprise you?!?!? This is Abbi Glines' best book out there. Yeh yeh, she has like a million and two, but in my opinion, I vote this book as her Best Book to date! 10++++++ Stars!

Left Feeling Disappointed In Both Grant & Harlow

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2014*

Rating: 3.5 starsGrant was always the guy I wanted to know more about during the first five books of the series. I wanted to know how he fit into the tangled web of Rush and Nan’s family. His bond with Rush is so loyal and strong that I don’t understand why he is afraid to love. They may not be brothers in blood, but they are in all other sense of the word. I loved seeing him be such a huge part of Rush and Blaire’s life. The one thing that is obvious, is Grant’s feeling for Harlow. I knew from the beginning that this girl was different than any other he had met. It just took Grant a while to accept that instead of living in denial. But, then there was Nan. I think the burning question I had was why in the ever loving world would Grant find any redeeming quality in Nan. I’m so glad I got my answers. I keep thinking that *maybe* Abbi would show me a side I’ve never seen of her. Maybe it would explain why Grant kept running to her rescue. Yea, nope, didn’t happen in this book, which is fine, I’m happy to keep hating evil Nan, but the problem was, it made it THAT much harder to understand why Grant felt something for her. He explains his reasoning perfectly, but even though I get it logically, it still made no sense to me. Nan is the cause of most of the problems with Harlow and why he choose to continue make a mess of things when it came to her, I have no clue.I loved Harlow from the minute she entered the Rosemary Beach world. She doesn’t get caught up in her father’s famous rock star status, instead she does the opposite, she stayed secluded in her books and away from her sister, Nan. Harlow has this air of innocence and simplicity about her. However, don’t be fooled, this girl is strong and if anyone can stand up to evil Nan, Harlow can. She definitely fits in with the women of Rosemary Beach and rounds out Blaire and Della well.Although I really enjoyed being in her head and learning more about her, I was left feeling confused by who Harlow really was. On one hand she is this sweet, innocent and almost naïve girl who has been sheltered her whole life. But, then on the other, she was this sexy vixen that asked for what she wanted and knew how to stand up for herself. I liked both sides to her personality, BUT at times, it felt like she was behaving out of character and it had me scratching my head going “where did that come from?” It made it harder for me, as the reader, to really figure out who she was as a person.Grant and Harlow’s story is less clear than Blaire & Rush’s and Woods and Della’s, mainly because they met during other people’s stories. Because of that, it was a little harder to understand their connection. When the book starts, you get a glimpse into the past, beginning when Grant goes to LA to find Nan, only to stay to get to know Harlow. Honestly, I have NO IDEA how Harlow was able to overcome the Grant & Nan issue. At the beginning, Nan was his kryptonite, she called, he ran. I wouldn’t have touched him with a ten foot pole, so I admire Harlow that much more for learning to trust him and get over that tidbit. In all honesty, I didn’t feel Grant worked hard enough to win over Harlow. I think she gave him too big of the benefit of the doubt, and not because he had once been with Nan. It’s because HE KEPT GOING BACK TO NAN after meeting Harlow. This was probably one of the most frustrating things for me and really makes me question Harlow’s sanity. This proves Harlow’s beauty though. She doesn’t hold his past against him and she focused more on the way he makes her feel.Don’t get me wrong, it is painfully clear how much Grant cares for Harlow and how his loyalty to Nan becomes null when Harlow becomes someone important in his life. He really did try to make up for his past. I just…didn’t buy it. I don’t think he proved himself to fully deserve her trust. I hope this changes in his next book, because I do like Grant. But I want him to redeem himself in the way Rush and Woods redeemed themselves when they screwed things up.Now on to the ending. It wasn’t as big of a cliffhanger as I thought it was going to be which was a pleasant surprise. I was not bothered by it, nor do I feel like the book was cut short. I actually think it was a really good place to end this book, because I needed a break to process everything that was revealed Believe it or not, I was a little disappointed in Harlow at the end of the book, not Grant. So here’s the crux of my problem, I was left feeling upset with Harlow and disconnected from Grant at the end of this book, leading me to not really love either one of the characters by the end. This book is a hard one to rate. Grant and Harlow’s story is addicting and I couldn’t put the book down. But, by the end I was left going “eh” to Grant and shaking my head in disappointment at Harlow. As much as I love the Rosemary Beach series, this one is not my favorite story and they aren’t my favorite couple. However, I did enjoy the ride and am looking forward to reading the next book in hopes that these two characters learn from their past mistakes. If you are a fan of this series, like I am, I really think you should read this book. You will get glimpses into Rush and Woods’ lives. It will give you a reminder of why you love this series and these characters. Abbi Glines delivered another story with story lines that take you by surprise and I’m so thoroughly invested in it.

    Great read

Grant needed to get his head out of his backside his heart knows what it wants his head needs to get on the same page. Harlow needs to follow her broken heart and get her head on straight its better to love and lose than never to have loved at all.
