Mine is powering off for a couple seconds but powers back on while vacuuming.** A: Empty the canister and make sure everything is clear...there is probably a clog somewhere **Q: How loud is it?** A: There are (3) settings for vacuuming; 1, 2, 3 the highest for suction, we usually have it one which is more than enough for hardwoods and low pile rugs, tile, marble. I have not used a noise meter but the settings for 1 and 2 are not very load at all. My other vacuum would not allow me to get close to my Bichon while sleeping. Settings 1 or 2 no problem with this vacuum. I really like this vacuum, the performance and the ease of cleaning the canister as well as breaking down for stair cleaning or blinds with attachment. You cannot go wrong with this purchase. We have purchased very high-end vacuums with transmissions, dirt devils, etc, hands down, the best vacuum we have purchased and used! Besides, if you do not like it, send it back!
