I returned that product after having given it a fair shot for about a week, having been convinced in the end that it was just no good. As soon as I had this leash in my hands, I knew immediately the quality was much higher. I put it to work right away on a nice, long walk with my dog, who is still a puppy with lots of energy and very strong. The retraction mechanism worked perfectly, and the guide where the tape reels in and out did a good job of making sure it didn't get tangled, but the best part was the locking mechanism. I think that's the weak spot in the less expensive knock-offs, but in this leash, it worked flawlessly every time. It locks and unlocks easily, and will stay locked when you press the switch to engage that. This leash is a bit heavier than others I've tried, but in a good way. It does not feel flimsy or cheap at all. Everything works smoothly, and it feels quite strong.
