It may be simpler, but perfect to see if your child likes train tables or not. The trains don’t like to stay together despite the magnets because the tracks are curvy but I’ve read reviews on every train table and that is a problem they all seem to have. However this table comes with regular cars too! Those are easier to maneuver so I’m glad it came with extra regular vehicles and a police car! It doesn’t have any storage like other tables, (it doesn’t have extra tracks so you don’t really need it) but it would be nice for if he would like to clear off the table for using his hot wheels or something. No biggie I’ll just buy a basket of my own. My three year old loves it so that’s what matters. I agree with the prior reviewer who said that it's annoying how the train tracks do not line up with the images on the playboards underneath. But that's only an aesthetic issue. However, logistically speaking, beware! It took me and my husband almost an hour to put the tracks together because the instructions are incorrect! It was very frustrating. There kept being one piece that didn't fit no matter how we put them together. Turns out the instructions show a backwards facing piece when it should be the opposite. Our daughter keeps trying to take apart the track, as little ones like to do, but we wont let her because we're afraid it'll take us an hour to do it again!
