Yes, It does increase suction power but it doesn't increase flow to the filter or the return lines, as everyone would expect under Bernoulli's principle. Yes, It does pull floating debris from larger distances, and reduces the need of skimming manually with a net. Yes, I was able to reduce pump running time from about 3 hours to 2 hours. Yes, I had problems with the skimmer basket getting dislodged when people swam and yes, Skim doctor adds weight to it and lessens the problem. Yes, It's easier to pull out the basket because you don't have to submerge your hands to take it out, however emptying it is more difficult and rinsing with a hose is almost mandatory. Yes, It is very easy to install, don't overtighten the screw or you will bend the basket's base or even brake it. Why did I gave it 4 stars. Well, I think it's expensive for what it really is, a plastic cylinder (no matter how smart the product is). The other reason is advertising is overoptimistic.
