Dafür ist er angenehm leicht. Arretiert wird der Spaten in ausgeklapptem Zustand über einen Drehmechanismus am Stiel, der sogar vorbildlich geölt war. Über denselben Mechanismus lässt sich auch die Hackposition einstellen. Die beiliegende Tasche ist von mittlerer Qualität. Möchte man den Spaten am Gürtel oder Rucksack befestigen, wird sie vermutlich nicht allzu lange halten.
