I have stainless steel mesh on hand and cut a couple of 2x2 inch pieces. I mixed up the J-B Weld and embedded the mesh in a thick coat of the epoxy and placed it over the crack in 2 places on the back side of the bumper. The photos show the original damage up close, the wider shot shows the “fix” and the other photo shows the inside of the back of the bumper. The crack in the bumper is still visible but it’s hard to see unless you’re looking for it and it won’t enlarge due to the J-B weld “fix”. You'll need to hold the led in place for at least 6 minutes and then let the glue dry completely. I used the glue to reattach a rearview mirror support slug to a windshield. I held the slug in place for 6 minutes and then let it dry overnight before I attached the rearview mirror to it. The instructions on the package will explain this. Also, be aware that you will NEVER be able to remove the led without ripping out the carpet. **Q: Will this bond silver (silverware) together for craft projects?** A: It will bond almost anything that is clean and free of dirt and oils. However it is not a structural adhesive so if your silverware is going to be subject to twisting or bending once glued it will eventually give up. If you need more strength and can work with a much slower cure time regular JB Weld is much stronger but it takes hours to cure so proper clamping is required. **Q: How long before it expires in tubes ?** A: Normally I use all of a tube when its open. Great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top grade epoxy *by I***N on July 19, 2024* There are many 2-component epoxies that will get hard. JB Weld gets even harder, but more than that, it is easy to apply and work with when it is fresh-mixed, much more that others that I have used. I use this stuff constantly and it has never failed me yet, even extreme uses. Example: my electronic toothbrush worked well, but the rubber push-button switch quit working. Opened it up, and the little "finger" of plastic that pushed down on the switch button on the small circuit board broke, so when I pushed the rubber button it didn't make contact. A tiny dab of JB size of a pin head on the circuit board button hardened enough so that when I push it makes contact again. Crazy. Broke the side-view mirror on my car, cracked part of the black plastic housing. The motor still worked, but there was a gaping hole in the housing. I smoothed in a large gob of JB and you can't tell anything was missing. Next day I painted it with black caliper paint and you can't tell the difference. That is how smooth you can work this epoxy. Great stuff, use it for repairs.
