You can adjust the height (distance from fire) but not the angle. 
The angle is a few degrees pointing up to prevent the grill to detach from motor when loaded (specially with heavier loads up to 22 LB)

I paired it with the stand and it was very stable on grass over a kettle. Just adding on to what most of the other top positive reviews are saying that this rotisserie kit is pretty well thought out and easy to use. Looking forward to using it more and letting it cook for me. Just have to manage the fire a bit and dinner will be ready in no time.
