I bought it primarily for stargazing. I wanted to bring the power on my 70mm Celestron spotting scope down to 10X (the longest focal length stock eyepiece it came with was 20mm, or 20X). This eyepiece produces a clear, sharp edge-to-edge image of stars, with no signs of optical aberrations. I tested it during the day for terrestrial viewing and found it to produce a sharp image as well. I'm also really pleased with the wide field of view.
