This cannot help but fail over time. I bought this to replace my (similar) Kohler K3646 which developed a crack in the seat. See picture. It was about a year and a half old. The (poor) design distributes the weight that 'sits' on it onto the back hinge and front bumper. New seat is the K4734-0, but same design as the old cracked one. The pictures of the bumpers are the new seat. The rear bumper sits about 1/8 to 3/16 inch above the toilet bowl rim until weight is applied to the seat. The toilet seat then flexes just in front of the rear bumper which forces the bumper into contact with the toilet bowl rim. At that point, the seat is supported on all four bumpers, but it is too late. The plastic seat flexes just that little bit every time it is used. If I remove the front rubber bumpers, it may not flex quite as much, but then the "no slide" feature will not work. Great mounting, very easy to remove, soft close, so I gave it 3 stars, but it's going to crack eventually. I'm surprised it cracked with that small of a deflection, but it did. I'm hoping this one fails a little faster this time so I can put a warranty claim in and not have to buy yet another one. We have two bathrooms and there are only two of us, average weight. But, it doesnt really matter how heavy you are, it flexes with only a slight amount of weight, then the whole weight gets properly distributed, but the flexing damage is done.
