Is it really as good for that price?** A: BE ADVISED: GSD puppies should NOT eat a formula with >30% protein. The protein % of this RC blend is perfect for the first year as GSD's grow until they're 18-24 mos. old. Feeding a GSD youngin' 33% protein is paying for probable trouble in later years as it causes them to grow too fast which is bad for their joints and more. If they work with you outside and are very active a little more protein is fine. That said I've had German Sheps for 38 yrs. and ours didn't do well on Royal Canin... excessive stools, frequent diarrhea, dandruff like dry skin. All this completely reversed when we switched to Victor Super Premium blends (per age). We think we've tried them all, but Victor was and remains far and away superior and we'll use them again be for the new puppies. And finally, this price is also (E)xcessively high. We get 40 lbs. bags of Victor for $46.00 ea. Best place is a local feed store as the big retail chains don't carry Victor. Victor has a comparison tool on their site where you can find protein percentages max 30% for puppies for their first year at least. **Q: Does any know the protein and fat percentage in this food? Also where exactly is it made?** A: RC gsd puppy food: protein 28% crude fat 14% Check their web site for point of origin. **Q: I have a puppy german shepard 4 weeks old is it ok to give her this food?** A: First question I would ask is. Why do you have a 4-week old GSD puppy? It should not leave its mother and litter mates until a minimum of 8 weeks.We fed our GSD this when we first got it at 9 weeks of age. Our GSD had loose stool and we had to treat it for internal parasites and Giardia. We live near stagnate water.We shifted to Blue Buffalo at 6 months and the stool solidified.Go to a GSD FaceBook page and ask about what to feed your 4-week old puppy.
