In the winter when my face is drier, I use moisturizer under this sunscreen, but I am 67 years old, so my face is naturally drier than that of a younger woman. In the spring and summer I do not need moisturizer with this sunscreen, however. I have found it to be much more moisturizing than any other sunscreen I've tried (and I've tried many).
