I've gone through half a dozen binoculars over the years of various styles and sizes and have been looking for that elusive perfect pair and these getty pretty damn close. I've been using them for about 6 months now. I previously had another pair of 8x32 Opticrons which were a bit more compact than these but the field of view was a bit restricted when wearing glasses. These however have a wonderful wide view even with specs. The image is bright and clear across a good portion of the eyepiece. Focus wheel is smooth and precise. Near-focus range is about 2 m which is great for getting a zoomed in view of butterflies and the like during the summer. There's no discernible spherical or chromatic aberration. There's a tripod mounting point which is handy. They're both light and sturdy in the hand and feel very solidly built. The neck strap is nicely padded, one side is a soft rubber and the other more fabric-y so it's easy to find something that doesn't slip on jacket material and something softer when wearing a t-shirt. The lens covers are also good and don't fall off which is welcome. There's some lens flare when under bright sun or looking across water for example but this is a fairly minor gripe. As these are good quality I've found the image brightness is equivalent to a larger cheaper 8x42 so I'd save the weight and bulk and use these.
